Last weekend, the Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) hosted their annual Member Recognition Day at the Globe and Mail Centre in Toronto. Eastmount Chiropractic was well-represented, with Dr. Tony Anziano and Dr. Chris Bozzo both attending this informative and inspiring event that celebrates the best of our profession. Dr. Anziano had the privilege of presenting the Health System Ally Award, which honours an advocate or partner outside the chiropractic profession that has advanced chiropractic care within the health care system. This year’s recipient was Dr. Brian Drew. Dr. Drew is an orthopedic surgeon who has long championed interprofessional care. As the surgical lead for the MSK Low Back Pain Rapid Access Clinic Program, he played a pivotal role during its pilot phase in Hamilton and subsequent rollout across Ontario. His leadership has helped build a model of care where chiropractors are integral members of the health care team. Throughout his career, Dr. Drew has welcomed chiropractic residents from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College
into his clinic, fostering shared learning and mutual respect. His efforts are helping to shape our health care system into becoming more connected, collaborative and patient-centered, with chiropractors playing a key role in that success. Congratulations, Dr. Drew!
