Welcome To Personal Care Physiotherapy
At Personal Care Physiotherapy we provide 1 on 1 private treatment sessions to residents of Hamilton, Ontario and the surrounding area. All sessions are with a registered physiotherapist in an environment that is motivating, comfortable and supportive.
Physiotherapy is a health care profession focused on maintenance and rehabilitation of the body. Physiotherapists are trained to assess, diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, injuries and diseases. Physiotherapy is effective in the treatment and management of arthritis, acute and chronic pain in the back, neck, or joints and strength and conditioning.
During your assessment, your physiotherapist will perform an assessment and develop a treatment plan in order to achieve your functional goals. Physiotherapy uses manual techniques, exercise, modalities (Laser, Ultrasound, TENS, acupuncture), and education to promote, maintain and restore function. Whether you’re suffering from arthritis or are an athlete looking for a performance edge, we can help.

POST OPERATIVE MANAGEMENT
Thorough rehabilitation programs, involving hands on techniques, modalities, and progressive exercise programs are vital when rehabilitating after a surgery to regain full strength and function of a joint.
CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT
Concussions are complex pathophysiological processes affecting the brain. They can occur as a result of sporting injuries, falls, motor vehicle accidents, explosions and assault, and in conjunction with other injuries. If left untreated, symptoms could last for months and even years following the incident.
VESTIBULAR PHYSIOTHERAPY
Patients with vestibular (inner ear/balance) disorders experience problems with dizziness, light-headedness, vertigo, visual disturbances +/- imbalance. These patients will be assessed and treated on an individual basis in order to decrease these.
NEUROLOGICAL PHYSIOTHERAPY

Treatment for the following can be provided: stroke, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, parkinson’s disease, muscular dystrophy, etc.
CHRONIC PAIN MANAGEMENT
Patients who suffer from chronic pain syndromes need interventions to help rewire the nervous system and change how it interprets incoming and outcoming information, instead of directly treating the original injury. Some treatments include relaxation techniques, imagery and breathing techniques, and self-management strategies.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT REHAB
Motor vehicle accidents are often complex injuries that involved multiple body parts and often more than just the physical body. Assessments will be in-depth and will cover all aspects from whiplash-associated disorders, to concussion management, to chronic pain and pain relief management.
HOME EXERCISE PROGRAMS
With every injury comes a home exercise program that is individualized. Patients will begin with a program that suits them best in their first treatment, and this program will be progressed according to their improvements moving forward. Patients will be discharged at an appropriate time with the tools they need in order to prevent these injuries from coming back.
PATIENT ADVICE & EDUCATION
No two injuries, dysfunctions or disabilities are the same. Every patient is entitled to know the risk factors, predispositions, prognosis, etc. related to their problem. Advice and education will be specifically given to every individual in a confidential and supportive environment.
