These continue to be trying times for all of us. Our patients have now not been able to have treatment in almost one month. Although we are available for emergency visits, we continue to encourage everyone to try to manage their pain while staying at home. This means staying active with the right exercises, eating well and getting enough sleep. But even then, pain can be a challenge. That’s where some additional tools can come in handy. We’ve had a number of inquiries recently about any other products that could be used as a way to manage pain while staying home. Almost all of our patients are familiar with Biofreeze, the topical analgesic gel we use here at the office. It provides some very effective short term pain relief for sore muscles. Sore muscles can also benefit from another tool we use regularly: A handheld massager. The Homedics product we use is an inexpensive, durable tool that creates a powerful stimulation of nerve endings in muscle tissue. It’s the kind of stimulation that not only feels good, but it also signals nerves to keep muscle loose well after the massaging stops. Both these products can be a valuable addition to any pain management strategy. An even more powerful product that we just introduced is a CBD-infused topical cream. We’ve heard many of our patients describe excellent pain control results with CBD oil, the ingredient in cannabis that reduces pain without creating any cognitive changes. We’ve been on the lookout for something that would benefit our patients for some time and the cream developed by Health Therapy Products seems to be an excellent choice. The product is called 19 paths. In addition to 100mg of CBD Isolate, it contains other ingredients commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. So far, the feedback we’ve received has been overwhelmingly positive. If you are having a hard time managing your pain, but don’t think it’s a true emergency, you may want to consider asking us about one of these products. Even though we are not keeping regular hours, these products continue to be available for purchase via pick up. We can be reached by email at hamiltonspinedoc@gmail.com. You can also feel free to leave a message at the office. We are checking for phone calls regularly. Stay well everyone!
