Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) are commonly used to treat a variety of painful conditions such as back pain and neck pain. Adverse reactions to these drugs are well known and include digestive problems and cardiovascular issues. Although these reactions have been documented in the past, new research suggests that the onset of these problems, in particular heart attacks, can arise much sooner than previously thought. A group of researchers at the University of Montreal analyzed data of over 400,000 patients to arrive at their conclusions.
