Spinal Decompression Therapy is one of the many tools we use to help treat our patients with back or neck pain. It is most often used for pain that radiates into the extremities caused by degenerative changes or disc herniations. Indeed, most of the research that has studied spinal decompression suggests that it tends to be more effective for this type of “radicular” pain, as opposed to localized back or neck pain. Pain that is restricted to the back itself usually responds well to spinal adjustments. But there are some situations where adjustments do not provide the relief patients are looking for.
