SMART is an acronym for some simple guidelines that will help you have success in whatever you wish to achieve.
First of all, make sure your goal is SPECIFIC. Don’t generalize. A specific goal will help focus your attention and give you a greater chance of success. Also, make sure your goal is MEASUREABLE. Whether it’s a waistline or your weight, you need a way clearly measure your progress. Your goal must also be ACHIEVABLE. Be honest with yourself about what you can do. This ties in with another important quality of your goal: make it REALISTIC. And finally, create TIME-TARGETS for your goal. If you plan to lose 20 lbs, when do you plan to lose it by? If you follow these simple steps, you can achieve all your health goals!
